Petaluma (~40 min east): Safeway, Grocery Outlet, Trader Joe's. On your route from the Bay Area — easy to stop on the way in.

Pro Tip: Stock Up on the Way In

Stop at a full grocery store before the final drive. Once you arrive, the nearest supermarket is 40 minutes away. Bring everything for your first night's dinner and next morning's breakfast.

Pick up oysters from Hog Island or The Marshall Store, local cheese, and a bottle of Sonoma County wine on the way in. Shucking on the deck is hard to beat.
